Questions on
the vouchers themselves:
" I decided on my own to reduce (or increase) my payments, do
I need new vouchers? "
No new vouchers are necessary, simply cross out
the amount and enter what you are paying.
" I discovered that I skipped a payment so I am going to
double up the next payment. Can I send it all in one and what do I do with
that skipped voucher?"
Yes you can send it all with one voucher – consider these vouchers as
deposit tickets. If you skip one, you can discard the unused voucher and
don’t worry, the tax
authorities are not going to be looking for you because you did not send
them anything for a given quarter.
"You (Hoffman) provided me with payment vouchers and
envelopes and now the IRS has sent me vouchers that they claim are scan
ready. What should I use?"
You can use either one. For myself, I prefer to use the vouchers that I
prepared and I shred and discard the government forms. If you received
state vouchers, we like to use their envelopes so please give us that
package with your tax materials.
